About Dholera Smart City, Gujarat

Dholera Smart City is the planned urban core of the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) in Ahmedabad district, Gujarat, India.

The Dholera SIR is a 920 sq km planned region created under Gujarat's SIR Act of 2009 and developed as a node of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). It lies in the Bhal region of Gujarat, roughly 100-110 km from Ahmedabad.

Development began with the 22.54 sq km Activation Area, where trunk roads, water, power, drainage and ICT ducting were laid first. Over 72 km of road and utility network has been built there, and the city is described as the first greenfield industrial smart city in India to receive an IGBC Platinum rating.

The master plan includes industrial, logistics, IT, residential, city-centre, tourism and green zones, plus a 6.5 km canal with stormwater management and recreational spaces along its banks.
